Spurs target January move for Saivet

Tottenham are interested in a January move for Bordeaux centre midfielder Henri Saivet, according to Sam May.

Senegalese International Saivet, 25, has been in prolific form for the French Club this season and is the youngest professional player in the history of club having signed back in 2007, aged just 17.

He started his career as a winger before being moved in the centre of midfield, and has impressed under manager Willy Sagnol. The number 10 has made 22 appearances this season, scoring three goals and contributing to one assist.

The 5ft 9 man has been dubbed the ‘new Thierry Henry’ due to his dribbling abilities, pace power, aerial dules, holding on the ball and defensive contribution. It is said that he is available for a cut price £3.5 million in January.

It is understood Tottenham, Everton, Aston Villa, Swansea and Bournemouth all sent scouts to Anfield to watch the former France Youth International in Liverpool’s recent 2-1 Europa League victory over Les Girondins, in which Saivet scored the opener.

Since then Sunderland, Southampton and Newcastle have also joined the race for Saviet’s signature. He has a contract with Bordeaux until June 2017.

Klopp keen on Jack the lad

Jurgen Klopp is interested in a summer move for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to Sam May.

Butland, 22, was a Liverpool target back in 2013 before Stoke swooped to capture the young England International. Klopp see’s the impressive shot stopper as a replacement for Simon Mignolet, who has failed to impress since his Anfield arrival.

He is considered to be the best young keeper in the Premier League and has been capped three times by Roy Hodgson. It is understood Liverpool’s archrivals Everton are also considering a move for the Stoke number one, as they look for a replacement for veteran Tim Howard, 36. Both team are said to have sent scouts to watch the Bristol born goalkeeper in recent weeks.

The 6ft 5, athletic goalkeeper became the youngest ever England International goalkeeper at 19 years 158 days in 2012 against Italy in Bern, Switzerland, after Joe Hart withdrew from the squad with a back injury. He beat the record set by Billy Moon who was 64 days older when he first played for England in 1888.

The former Birmingham City man signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Premier League club Stoke on 31 January 2013 for £3.5 million. As part of the deal, he returned to Birmingham City on loan for the remainder of the season.

He later became back up to former Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who is now at Chelsea. Since then, Butland has been handed the number one shirt and has impressed alerting both Merseyside clubs. He has made 14 appearances for the Potters this season, making 41 saves and keeping five clean sheets.

Liverpool are also interested in Bundesliga goalkeepers Timo Horn, 22, currently of FC Koln, Loris Karius, also 22, from one of Klopp’s former clubs Mainz and Bernd Leno, 23, of Bayer Leverkusen.

Gunners target move for Bender

Arsenal are interested in a January move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender, according to Sam May.

It emerges after the Gunners lost French midfielder Francis Coquelin, 23, to a long-term injury. Bender, 26, who is the twin brother of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sven, is said to be the ideal target for manager Arsene Wenger as he looks to bolster Arsenal’s midfielder.

Wenger has hinted at bringing in a few new faces this winter as he looks to bolster his squad and spearhead an Arsenal title charge. The French man was quoted saying: “we are in a position where we want to do something. If I find the right quality, I will do something”.

Captain Bender can play either as a defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder or on the right. The German International, who has made 11 caps for his country, has previously been linked with a move to the Emirates and it now seems a move could happen in January. He is said to be worth £20 million.

He joined Leverkusen back in 2009 from 1860 Munchen. The Number 10, has made seven appearances this season in the Bundesliga, four in the Champions League and two in the DFB Pokal scoring one goal.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in a move for Polish International Grzegorz Krychowiak, 25, currently with Sevilla, Portuguese International William Carvalho, 23, of Sporting Lisbon and 18 year old Belgium teen sensation, Youri Tielemans of Anderlecht.

Moreno is the real deal for Real

Real Madrid are interested in a January move for Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno, according to Sam May.

The Spaniard, 22, has experienced a difficult time since joining the Reds from his home club Sevilla in 2014, for £12 million. He has however improved since the arrival of new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, and found himself to be a regular in the left back role ahead of out of favour Jose Enrique. This season he has replicated his form he showed in La Liga before his move to the Premier League.

It comes after the Galacticos first choice left back Marcelo, 26, continues to be injured, leaving manager Rafael Benitez with no option but to look for a back up. Benitez sees the Merseyside giant’s number 18 as the perfect replacement and is ready to raid one of his former employers for Moreno’s signature.

Moreno has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season for Klopp’s Reds, who admitted he tried to sign the 5ft 6 man when in charge of Borussia Dortmund.

He was part of the Spain Under 21 National Team that won the European Under 21 Championships back in 2013 as well as the UEFA Europa League with Sevilla in the same year.

Los Blancos are said to also be looking at Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez, 23, Samuel Umtiti of Lyon and Ludogorets Nataneal, 24, while David Alaba of Bayern Munich remains another long-term target.

Madrid are however unable to sign any more non-EU players and would prefer to recruit a player who is not cup-tied in the Champions League, so Liverpool’s Moreno fits the bill and emerges as a firm target.

Newcastle target swoop for Shelvey

Newcastle are interested in a shock January move for Swansea centre midfielder, Jonjo Shelvey, according to Sam May.

Magpies boss Steve McLaren has recently insisted that the Newcastle board target a move the England International. It is understood that McLaren wants owner Mike Ashley to bring in a range of British talent, as he looks to build a team spirit, something that has been lacking on Tyneside for some time.

However it seems a move for the Jacks star man is unlikely, despite Shelvey’s and Swansea recent dip in form. The Romford born man has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and making four assists.

Shelvey, 23, has recently signed a four-year deal with the Swans in the summer, two years after initially signing for the South Wales club.

He began his career at Charlton Athletic, becoming their youngest-ever player at 16 years and 59 days old. He later moved to Liverpool for £1.7 million, spending a brief loan at Blackpool before Michael Laudrup brought him to Swansea in 2013 in a £5 million deal. The number 8 can also play in the attacking midfield role or on the left.

One player Newcastle do look set to sign in January Tottenham winger Andros Townsend, who has been named as a potential Swans target in the past.

Liverpool are interested in a January move for Leeds United centre midfielder Lewis Cook, according to Sam May.

The youngster, 18, has made over 50 appearances for the Whites in all competitions and is linked with a £10 million pound move away from Elland Road.

He graduated through the Leeds United Youth Academy and was playing for the Leeds under-18s team when he was just 15 years old. The number 23 scored in a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool Under-18s on 1st March 2013 at Anfield in the FA Youth Cup.

In May 2014 he was part of the England Under-17 squad that won the UEFA European Under-17 Championships. Now an England Under 19s International, he can also play on the right side of midfield or in the attacking midfield role.

2014 proved to be a successful year for Cook who won the Football League Championship apprentice of the year, named as runner up for the Yorkshire Evening Post’s player of the year and won the Leeds United young player of the year award.

Cook is one of many young gems that have come through the Leeds Youth Academy. Alex Mowatt, Charlie Taylor and Sam Byram are other names to mention, who have also attracted attention from Premier League clubs.

Should Cook opt to move to another bigger club it may be some time before he is given that Premier League chance he craves.

He has recently signed a new contract at Leeds back in May, this season, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2017.

Merseyside giants, Liverpool are not the only team monitoring Cooks services. It is understood Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Stoke City and Bournemouth are all interested in the impressive starlet.

Inter Milan are interested in a January move for Ajax, attacking midfielder Davy Klaasen, according to Sam May.

Klaassen, 22, born in Hilversum, Netherlands is said to be a key target for I Nerazzurri. The midfielder started his career at HVV de Zebra’s Hilversum and later moved to HSV Wasmeer before working his way to the top through the Ajax youth set-up at the famous Sportpark De Toekomst, which is famously known for producing high profile young starlets.

The Netherlands International has netted 23 times in 75 appearances since being promoted to the first team back in 2011. To date Klaassen has made 13 appearances this season, scoring six goals and making four assists.

The 5ft 11 man recently impressed in Ajax’s 5-1 hammering over SC Cambuur, were he netted twice and helped the Dutch champions to go four points clear over bitter rivals PSV at the top of the table.

The Ajax captain has been one of the stand out performers in the Eredivise so far, alerting Italian Giants Juventus. However since then, it seems Inter Milan have leapfrogged the Serie A champions and said to be preparing a bid in the region of £6 million. The player does have a contract with Ajax until June 2019.

It is understood that Inter officials have already met with Klaassen’s agent, Essel Sports Management, with the number 10 said to be keen on a move to the San Siro. Should he sign, it would most likely spell the end to Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, 23, who is currently on-loan from Dinamo Zagreb.
